Recently, I was craving a refreshing drink that would provide an abundance of nutrients.  It’s summertime, and for some reason that means it’s time to head down south. But why not stay at home and enjoy your favorite frosty drink from the comfort of your own kitchen. After searching through my fridge and pantry, I found that I had all the ingredients for a delicious Bahama Mama Tropical Smoothie Recipe. This recipe is a great way to enjoy a tropical drink, without venturing out of the country. All you need is a blender, some ice, and a few basic ingredients.

I had been saving the pineapple, strawberries, and mango that I had purchased during my trip to the grocery store. In addition, I found a container of coconut milk that I had forgotten about. I like to make my smoothies with almond milk to decrease the amount of sugar. I also added an avocado to this recipe to make it extra creamy. The portion of the recipe that I made is enough for two servings. I would recommend 1/2 of a frozen banana to add an extra bit of sweetness.

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup mango chunks
  2. 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  3. 1/2 banana
  4. 1/4 cup orange juice
  5. 1/4 cup coconut milk
  6. 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  7. 1 tablespoon honey
  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  9. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
