How The kashmir Files reached rs 200 crore club:
The Kashmir Files, a Hindi film themed on the evacuation of Kashmir’s Pandit population during the early months of the conflict, has grabbed the box office by storm. The film is expected to not only exceed the Rs 100-crore milestone in ticket revenue, but also reach the Rs 200-crore club, according to theater owners.
The film is going steadily off, according to exhibitors, with weekday profits anticipated to be greater than the opening weekend.
INOX Leisure, a multiplex operator, claimed good occupancy levels in theaters after selling over 450,000 tickets to viewers of The Kashmir Files.
“On Sunday, the average occupancy was above 88 percent for the whole day, which is unusual. I recall seeing this type of crowd during Baahubali 2. On Fri (day one of release), the film grossed Rs 3.5 crore; by Saturday, it had exceeded Rs 8 crore, and by Sunday, it had surpassed Rs 15 crore. Every day, the company’s revenue nearly doubles. And Monday appears to be the same as Sunday, which is unusual because weekdays are often less expensive than weekends “INOX Leisure’s chief programming officer, Rajender Singh Jyala, said Moneycontrol.
According to early projections, the 11 march 2022 release is expected to do roughly ₹ 16 crore on the fourth session.
How ” The Kashmir Files ” Changed the game
Despite being a low-budget film with a budget of roughly ₹ 8-10 crores, The Kashmir Files is dominating the box office.
“We anticipate Baahubali to do well, but when something as unexpected as this playing like a blockbuster. There hasn’t been an empty show when we started displaying (the film). We began with one concert, then expanded to two, three, and now all three events are sold out. This is a one-of-a-kind performance. We’re expecting at least Rs 65-70 crore in the first week “Vishek Chauhan, owner of the separate Roopbani Cinema in Bihar, agreed.
The Hindi film industry has been waiting for a hit like this, according to Chauhan.
“While films in the south began to do well in movie industry, we had yet to see a film like this (this year).. While Gangubai Kathiawadi fared well, The Kashmir Files is helping to mend the scars of the exhibition industry. We were just bystanders before The Kashmir Files, but now we’re witnessing crowded auditoriums “Added he.

Due to the latest wave of COVID-19, which prompted distributors in the north to conduct little to no business, Bollywood was compelled to delay new film releases in 2022 as well.
Because of the delayed releases, multiplex chains like PVR and INOX expected that business would be slow in January and February. The recovery rate is predicted to fall to 30% of pre-COVID levels in the 4th quarter of fiscal year 2022, down from 60% in the third quarter.
However, it appears that sleeper blockbusters like Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files might be a real game – changer for the exhibition industry.
According to INOX’s Jyala, it was the industry’s fastest recovery in the two years after the epidemic began.
The Kashmir Files, according to Chauhan, has hit a cord with a wide spectrum of cinematic pictures.
Reviews of The Kashmir Files
With the film beating out big-budget films from the Hindi cinema and South film industries, such as “Radhe Shyam,” “Bachchhan Paandey,” “RRR,” and “KGF2,” among others, “The Kashmir Files” took the top spot, which is an impressive achievement.
The creators of the much-discussed movie were in for a startling surprise during a previous screening of the migration drama in New Delhi.
Beyond complimenting filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s vision to portray a story (that needs to be explained) of Kashmiri pandits’ suffering, the packed theater gave the film a standing ovation and loud wave of applause, a witness to its aesthetic value. During the screening, the crowd echoed same feelings, with attendees unable to stop admiring the film’s thought-provoking plot and stellar performance by the star ensemble.
Cast of The Kashmir Files
‘The Kashmir Files,’ based on the video interviews with the first descendants of the Kashmiri Pandits minority who were sufferers of the Kashmir massacre, offers a true story. By concentrating on the loss, suffering, and trauma suffered by Kashmiri pandits, the book raises crucial concerns about democracy, faith, politics, and human behaviour.

Along with its portrayal of Kashmir Muslims’ violence toward Kashmir Pandits, it is considered one of Bollywood’s most realistic films. On March 11, 2022, the film will be released. The television rights are only from Zee Studios, as the film is produced by Zee Production companies, and we can presume that Zee5 also has the OTT rights, given the film is due to air on Zee5 soon.
The Kashmir Files is the year’s most divisive picture since it deals with the horrifying truth that you will witness in the theater when you see it. & Zee5 has not declared a release date; the corporation may announce an OTT launch date after the theatrical release; we will publish it with you as soon as we receive official notice.
